WHY
There's a concept story circulated in the sales and marketing industry that goes something like this: 'Suppose a washing machine salesperson knew the name of every person in their city who was going to buy a washing machine today. That list would be worth it's weight in gold because the business person could direct all of their marketing and service efforts at the people who need it most.
The concept is not new. Marketing costs a great deal of money. Your local grocery store, gas station, phone company, etc. have statistics on how much money it costs them to market their products to each person and make a sale. You are potentially worth thousands of dollars to your local grocery store and they know it. Even the smallest of business, sending out coupons, will tell you it costs several dollars to several hundreds of dollars to get one person in the door who will buy their product or service, using such an advertising campaign. This database is an effort to open up the lines of communication between the buyer and seller and reduce marketing costs and to pass the savings on to the consumer who buys with their hard earned money.
HOW
An individual enters their name, contact information, and the product they intend to buy into the database. Merchants are invited to search the database, by zip code(s), for the number of entries who have indicated they want to buy their product.
Search criteria is specific. A search using the product description 'car' will return a different set of entries than 'wheels'. The user is advised to be straightforward and specific in their product description in order to generate more traffic for their entry. The merchant is the expert on their industries terminology and will be able to find it if you use language they can understand.
When a merchant searches the database the number of entries matching their search criteria by zip code is returned. Only the number of entries matching their search. No contact information is given. They then must contact us for complete information at which time they will be asked to pay for the information or provide their pre-approved account number for billing.
When we pull the full account information for the merchant an entry into a third database entry is created listing the customer's account number, date, and the matching merchant ID who the information was pulled for. When funds are collected from the merchant, funds are distributed evenly to all the leads they purchased. For example if a merchant bought ten leads for ten dollars. One dollar would be accredited to each lead. Leads are identified by their account number. When funds assigned to the account number reach a specified level, the owner of the account number will be contacted for payment. There are no means by which we can combine account numbers at this time. Please see 'Caveats' below.
HOW TO GET PAID
DO NOT MAIL YOUR RECEIPT FOR PURCHASE UNTIL REQUESTED TO DO SO. We will contact you, via the email contact information provided with your entry, when adequate funds are generated. At that time you will be asked to verify your purchase and we will be asked to send your receipt as proof of purchase. Once the purchase has been verified you will be mailed a check payable to the name entered with your contact information. Once the check has been mailed via the US Post Office, first class mail, your account will be closed and no further activity will be pursued for that entry and account number. Only one copy of the check will be issued. We can not at this time take any responsibility for any action further. This is a simple database and does not rely on personal or individual information from any other sources than what is entered in this database.
CAVEATS
We will not respond to unsolicited requests. We apologize, but must point out that we have to maximize our efforts in order to return you the maximum amount of funds from the sell of the information entered.
This tool is operated by a small business primarily as a promotional tool to sell our software product. It would be better run with the resources of a larger corporation of which we would gladly entertain.
It's possible that the demand could exceed the capabilities or desires of our Internet Service Provider so we must reserve the right to limit or discontinue this service at any time.
We cannot combine account numbers for payment at this time. When an individual enters their information they are assigned a unique account number. If they re-enter their information they are assigned a separate account number. For example someone might want to enter their name, contact information and list the product they intend to buy as a 'car'. They will be given an account number. If they re-enter their name, contact information, and list the product they intend to buy as an 'auto' they are assigned a separate account number. This database, at this time, is not designed to combine multiple entries. This is a short coming of this database we sincerely apologize for and are working to improve our product and allow for the combining of multiple entries.
